Allegra Romita is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. In April 2011, she will graduate from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Movement Science. At UM, she has performed in works by Daniel Gwirtzman, Lindsey and Jason Dietz Marchant, Bill DeYoung, and Sandra Torijano. In Baltimore, Allegra has performed Mino Nicholas’s reconstruction of Doris Humphrey’s Scarf Dance. She also performed for Vincent Thomas and VT Dance at the Kenney Center Millenium Stage in Washington, DC. This past summer, she was an intern with the Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Company. Other training in Ann Arbor, New York and Baltimore include programs with Paul Taylor Dance Company, Parsons Dance, Steps on Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam, Peridance Capezio Center, Dance Place, DanceRink, and Moving Company Dance Center. Allegra is also a certified Vinyasa Yoga instructor with Lifeline Power Yoga.
